The Gotthard Pass snakes from Airolo in the Swiss-Italian canton of Ticino, rising up the Saint-Gotthard Massif to 2196 meters above sea level. It then wibble-wabbles down to Andermatt, in the German speaking canton of Uri.

It provides a breathtaking alternative to the 17km straight arrow drive in Gotthard Road Tunnel down in the bowels of the mountain.
